Join Kidsville at the Parthenon each Saturday from 11 AM to 1 PM in March for socially distanced fun! Explore the current museum exhibits and pick up a take-home activity to continue exploring the day’s theme. Kyla or Nikki will be handing out activity kits in the Treasury.
March 6 - EQUITY & INCLUSIVITY: Come celebrate Women’s History Month and the stories that photography can tell. See a special display of the photographs from the local book, We Have Such In Common by Syreeta Blakey and Shindana Feagins. Then, take home an activity kit to write a biography of a woman in your life.
March 13 - NUTRITION AND FITNESS: Do you like celebrating mathematical terms named after a letter in the Greek alphabet? Kidsville at The Parthenon is celebrating Pi Day. (3.14: the mathematical constant in determining the area of a circle). Explore circles in the Parthenon architecture and Kidsville stations and pick up a take home kit with a recipe for tortilla apple pie, a circle workout, and circle art.
March 20 - FINANCIAL LITERACY: - Stacking pennies and putting the Cent in Centennial! Join Kidsville at The Parthenon as we explore financial literacy inspired by this month’s Storybook Walk book, Stand Tall Molly Lou Melon. Don’t forget to pick up a take home kit that includes an empty penny roll for a saving plan challenge and a penny art project.
March 27 - ART: Get inspired by the photography featured in the Parthenon’s East and West Galleries and learn photography tips for spring. Come pick up a take home kit that has a tiny pretend camera and small watercolor paper cards to paint images of spring.
