January Kidsville at the Parthenon

Kidsville at the Parthenon will take place on select Saturdays in January and include a socially-distanced activity and take-home kit. Families with children ages 12 and under can enter the Parthenon for free on these dates and times. A Kidsville team member will be taking registrations at the entrance of the Parthenon beginning at 10:30 AM. We will be located upstairs in Parthenon's Naos room that houses Athena unless otherwise noted.

JANUARY SCHEDULE

JANUARY 8: CANCELLED DUE TO SNOW

JANUARY 15: Learn how film can tell stories about art, people, and places with a video presentation by filmmaker, Lesa Dowdy as part of the Kindred Links exhibit at the Parthenon. Then, pick up a take home kit to create your own “moving image” art piece called a thaumatrope.

JANUARY 22: Explore how new music can expand our minds and ears with and interactive music exhibit from from Intersection, Nashville's contemporary classical music ensemble. Then, pick up a take home kit to create a craft inspired by the music.

JANUARY 29: Experience the art and poetry of artist, Henry L. Jones displayed in the museum’s Kindred Links exhibit. Pick up a take home craft kit to create your own wearable “wing” art inspired by a Henry L. Jones poem.

There will be no Kidsville at the Parthenon on January 1.
