Kidsville started as an area devoted to children at our Musicians Corner events and we've always maintained a strong focus on the importance of music in early childhood development.
"Music helps the body and the mind work together. Exposing children to music during early development helps them learn the sounds and meanings of words. Dancing to music helps children build motor skills while allowing them to practice self-expression. For children and adults, music helps strengthen memory skills." - BrightHorizons.com
We have Musical Meet & Greets at many Kidsville events where we introduce children to various artists & instruments and provide hands-on learning with instruments. Our educational Kidsville at the Parthenon series features a Musical Guest once a month as a core component of our curriculum. One of our frequent partners is the contemporary music ensemble Intersection. We also welcome the Centennial jamBands program and students to various Kidsville events.
We have a Kid's Music Stage at Musicians Corner events as a play area focused on performance. We also have a Music Stage at our Kidsville Family Festival where we showcase both adult performers of children's music and youth performers as an opportunity to help develop performance skills.
INTRODUCTION TO MUSIC
